Can't figure how this might have happened douring the striking so I'm calling it PSD. Even though there is no bur on the edges of the cut and the fields sorrounding are flat. Do you agree? The arc does mimic the circumferance of a penny. (Theres a collar only on the anvil die, right?)
That resembles an "Incomplete planchet clip," to me, but the reverse just doesn't look quite right. I am leaning towards PSD due to the reverse. Hopefully I'm wrong. If its a genuine incomplete clip, you have a major score there!
Here's some links to other incomplete planchet discussions and photo's I found:

With some trepidation (I'm hoping that they do not debunk) here are some close-ups of the rim and the deepest parts of the gully. I see evidence of rim involvement on the east side of the obverse with a scratch/hit crossing the continued anom above the T in TRUST. On the west obverse the anom seems to fade into nothing in the field above LIBERTY. The reverse is obvious.
Just checked Chugly's link and it looks like Fred Weinburg called this an "Incomplete Punched Planchet"....it looks genuine to me....good luck on this one George
With the new pics I lean toward it being an incomplete punch. I'm not certain if the punch has to reach bot rims for certain or not. I sure would like to see it under the microscope.
The only thing that bothers me is how it looks around EPU...I don't like the copper color showing there.
That's a good point. I checked the curvature and the reverse matches the circumference of Lincoln cent; the obverse fades out and I cannot tell for sure, but it is close.
