    1934 D RPM-1 or MD

    Is it or isn't it?

I bought this a few years ago. I paid $75 for it back then. The seller wouldn't take it back. I think it's MDD What do you think?

    Here's another one

    Here's what get's me!

It could be 1934 D/D rpm 1 with machine doubling also. The secondary mintmark should be to the West. The mintmark is in the correct position to be RPM 1. You pictures are at an angle so it is hard to be sure.

I though the same for a while but the more I look the less likely it seems. I wish I could get my carmera to work on my scope so I could get some decent pictures. Heres a few more with the QX3 maybe they will help?

The mintmark location is correct. Stage "D" shows a very weak secondary mintmark. ANACS wouldn't have slabbed it if they did not believe the coin was correct. I think the machine damage and late die stage is why your having problems decerning this coin. A late die stage would also explain why it's so hard to photograph.....
