    What is k-6?

Okay I give up. I usually wait till someone else asks the dumb questions.

I have several times seen reference to k-6 as a position on a coin, such as CW rotation from k-6.

I have googled K-6 every which way and found mostly stuff about grade school education naturally. Nothing about coins.

I just now tried to find k-6 using LCR search feature to find earlier references of this type because I cant remember which thread(s) I have seen it before. Can one find an earlier post by searching on content or do you need to remember the title or author?

Anyway where is k-6? and where is it defined in the coin lingo dictionary if any?

As Bartles and James said, "Thanks for your support".

It was a circular chart in which Mr. Kolit marked off the off center positions in a clock-Type arrangement. He called each position the "Kolit Position".. In effect the 1:00 o'clock position was K-1, 2:00 o'clock was K-2 and so one. Still alot of old time collectors use the "K" positions. Now days they convert the positions to the 1:00 o'clock etc.

It's defined in "The Error Coins Encyclopedia" 4th ED page 474.

Thanks Joe. Hmm "The old Kolit Position" eh.

And I thought I knew them all.

        Still living, still learning.

By the way, you're right. Its only a dumb question when I forget and ask it again next week.
