    1955-D/D Tilted CCW Possible D/D/D

Here is an RPM that I have not been able to attribute. It has a very clear separation on the upright and both serifs. It also has some faint evidence of a 3rd punching on the serifs, though this could be easily overlooked or disputed.

    Here's a high resolution 2-D image:

And here are some 3D perspective renderings to show some alternate views:

It seems rotated. A nice example Ray. I would hesitate to call it a D/D/D without the 3rd punching being easy to discern.

These were 3D rendered using Helicon Focus, but you could use any of a bunch of programs that will do this. The key is getting the depth map info from the focus stack.

Agreed on both counts. I called it tilted because it has a bigger spread at the top and only small spread at the bottom, but you could easily call it rotated CCW. The 3rd D is just speculation, as it is so minor that it's hard to see even at these mags. I find it interesting, anyway. You see a lot of interesting things looking so close...Ray

No question about that one. A nice tilted D/D. I don't see anything to warrant a D/D/D listing.
