1961 D RPM, but which one?

I have had this one (and a dozen of his brothers) for quite some time. Due to exhausted current material, I started looking at some of my put asides. After a few more days of pondering, I can't place this one among any of the CC or Wexler filed examples. Thought I'd shout for some help. Thanks.
PS. The chip in front of the eye is only on this example.

You really have a rare one if the rev. image is correct, LOL I will take a closer look later when I have time.

Took a quick look before leaving the house, looks like a 040 on VV, most likely a stage b or c by the wear on the die details.

OOPS. Ignore the previous reverse. It was right next to this one and I picked the wrong picture (the reverse of my prior posted 55 S/S/S. The correct reverse appears here.

Maybe, but I would think it would be described as "tilted".

It does not look like VV uses tilted as a description after looking at other years, or for the 1961, They always use a direction only in their descriptions.

I really do not like the term "tilted" to describe these. It should be "rotated." "Tilted" means something completely different.

Position looks OK for RPM#40. I find those in streaks, I.E. find a few one week then six months later another roll of them. Looks like I have stages A,C,D in my set so welcome to the 61-D's!!!

See VV 1961-D RPM 057 "D/D Tilted West".

030 is tilted, 057 rotated. I think the difference is if one edge is heavier than the other verses a full punch turned.

Looks like CCs 040 http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diest...&die_state=mds which crosses to VVs 040 http://varietyvista.com/02b%20LC%20R...961DRPM040.htm On CCs MDS and VVs Stage B there are some abrasions and die dots inside the MM - north central - that may be on yours also... Your pic is a little to blurry to tell for sure tho!!!

Thanks for all responses with cudos to "uglycent". I'm convinced it is 040.
