The die dot between the D and the W match, and the chips look the same also. I would say you have a DDO. I don't know if I could have spotted this one or not. Good eye Jim. Before you know it you will have a real nice collection of shield penny DDO's. Good catch.................Dan

Cool find Jim!! Good eye too. You have taught me to look for the notching on LIBERTY on the shields, that's the only point to find many of them.

Glad I could help you out... At least now we know that the 2017Ps drove me nuts for a reason

Thanks Vivien... At least I was able to avoid the glare on my close ups... I think the glare on the full pics was coming from a light stand standing next to my pic taking set up... Next time all but my lights for taking pics are going off!!!

I see what you are talking about Jim, the light gave Abe a doubled ear! Check that out Jim, it really does look doubled!

I had to go look again, it's not doubled, that other part would make the ear lobe too short, but it sure looks like it at a glance

It sure does Jim... brought back memories of the old days when I posted 1,000 doubled die ears that were just light glare. You guys deserve an award for putting up with me!

                          Incredible eyes Jim.
If it wasn't for the quality of your images, I wouldn't have spotted that one.
