Here's a 1953-S RPM#12 without the die chip in the 5 as pictured on VV. I don't see this one pictured at all on CC. It has the die crack on the forehead as shown in VV Stage C, and one of the cracks in the hair. On reverse it is showing a crack on the "T" of CENT but no break/chip, but no other cracks. So, a new Stage of this relatively elusive RPM.
I remember this one. I had actually listed another die state of a different RPM on coppercoins before it was identified by one of our members. That's where you folks help me out by catching some of the mistakes made on the site.

Hmm, that's odd. I was going by my eBook, not the website. I'll need to find out why this one was delisted, or perhaps found to be a stage of another RPM...Ray
Edited to add:
OK, I think I see what happened. Looks like RPM-012 is actually an later stage of RPM-009. The images and description for the "old" RPM-012 (now unassigned) became stage D of RPM-009, while the original RPM-009 remains stage C. It looks like an earlier stage B has been added that does not have the crack on forehead. My coin is between the new stage B and the original stage C.
Thanks for pointing this out Jim. Makes me want to ditch the eBook and just rely on the VV website.
Cool... Thanks for the follow up... Looks like VVs 009 to me http://varietyvista.com/02a%20LC%20R...953SRPM009.htm Either a really late Stage B or real early C... There is an abrasion along the south edge of the MMs cross bar that is real strong on Stage B and a lot weaker on C... Yours looks to be much closer to the C???
Added - I updated your header info!!!
Jim (A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
