Bob could probably tell us which ones to look at to see this... but I've seen RPM's where the secondary mint mark got weaker as the die ages and some that got stronger. Don't really understand why. But for an example, look at VV on this one (Larry has the link in his first post). This secondary mint mark is medium strength at Stage A then weak at Stage B and very weak at Stage C.Last edited by VAB2013; 01-12-2019, 07:23 PM.Comment

Nice find LKOR... By the looks of the south punch it is still real strong like VVs http://www.varietyvista.com/02a%20LC...954DRPM002.htm Stage A... The south punching is nearly gone in Stage B and barely visible on Stage C/LDS!!!Jim

There are only a few that get more prominent with later die stages... I would have to look thru to find them... The normal progression is weaker with later die stages!!!Jim

My bad. For some reason I thought you guys had told us that at some point. It may have just been a particular listing.Comment

I think Larry has found a few with the stronger RPMs in later die stages??? If I remember to I will do a little research and make a thread in General Discussion with links to some 60D RPMs that get stronger in the later die stages... Remind me in a few days!!!Jim

Thanks Jim!! It's not necessary to do that. If the general rule is they are not as strong and the die goes, that's good enough for me.Comment
