    1952-D 1MM-31, Flying D

Finally found this RPM -- 1MM-31. Ever since I first saw it, I hoped to find one.

Got this from the MILs LWC album. She wants me to fill in some of her empty slots so I took the liberty of checking her coins and found this.

In typical circulated condition which means most markers are not identifiable [(except the T in CENT) so I included the overlay].

I think I might have found the precursor to this stage but, cannot prove it.

The overlay lines up well but the die crack seems a bit north and not able to verify if there may have been two cracks that caused the die chip.

The yellow line is where the latter stage crack is.

Those look like different dies. Those arcing die cracks from the 9 to the mint mark are exceedingly common. Weak spot in the die.

I agree with Will. (Yep, doubled checked and I'm not hallucinating this time. LOL)

I don't see the upper crack on the original coin image.

At least you made me actually answer this time before agreeing with me.

Maybe those Portabella mushrooms I ate that week were mislabeled!
