Found this about 2 weeks ago in a bank roll, It has almost no contact marks or scratches on it. Im sending it to NCS next week to have it conserved [as they like to call it] and then it going to NGC for grading. I think it will come back low ms. Ill post the results when I get it back.

Way to go! Out of curiousity, why does it need to be 'conserved'?

Im getting it conserved to get the dirt and oils of it and to bring out more detail. Also hoping the obv . will get a little reder to match the rev. witch is bright red.

You may have noticed recent discussions about cleaning coins. Until now noone mentioned "conserving". Could you please explain to me the difference. If it helps the appearance of the coin and gets the junk off it, I see nothing wrong as long as the coin looks natural.

If you get Coin World magazine you should check out page 4 and page 22. Both articles are about coin cleaning coins.

Finaly got them back, The 1984 DDO came back MS 63 RB and the 1999 wide AM I sent in with it came back MS 62 RD. Both coins look alot better after being conserved.

Here are the pics, The 99 had a lot of green spots on it. NCS removed them all.

Just out of curiosity. Which grade do you guys think is better...MS 62 RD or MS 63 RB ???

I would say they would be very close if both were the 84 DDO, But if I had to pick one it would be the 62 RD.

Hi Josh:

That 1994 dbl col might benefit. It has a little green on it.

The charge per coin is 22.50 that includes conservation at NCS and grading at NGC. Its under ( modern teir ) at NCS (NCSCOIN.COM) .There is no notetation of the coin being conserved on the holder. As far as I know there is no record at NGC of it being conserved. They also conserved a 1986-W 50$ PF GOLD EAGLE that had what looked like white milky film on the hole feild of the obv., That coin came back PF 70.

Is that 22.50 including variety attribution?

Great find. This is #1 on my search list at the moment. Well, finding anything would be great now. I've hit a dry spell. I'm searching in the DC area.
