These were around into the late 60's. Our bank up in north Missouri always had stacks of them. In 61, we boys started collecting pennies and we used up a lot of these. I think they were still around in the early 70's, i was treasurer of the Macon County Coin Club and some of the guys were still using them. I had some awhile back, but used them last November when i sold my last rolls of wheats. I had gotten the wrappers in the bottom of a box of stuff at a yard sale. Have none now. They were kraft colored.

        Bill,
I remember those things. If I think back, after you rolled the denomination, the roll would indicate what they were. I still haven't lost all my memories. Life was simpler during those times.

I had a post in another thread about these wrappers for any denomination. I have some of them around here somewhere, none of them are in all that great shape, and all are used. But I could try to preserve a few of them for anyone interested.

My grandparents never had any loose change... never had any money at all.
Grandma was a much richer person after she turned old enough to collect what they called 'old age pension', a part of the original social security program.
              Those were the days.

I get much more excited over paper rolls than the new plastic...whenever I go to the bank and see the teller has the paper rolls, I get all that they have and keep them to store nice coins I want to keep. I find that the plastic ones are a pain to throw away...I try to push them down into the trash, but they always creep back to their original shape and take up so much room...

                  Crocky,
Have you tried to put the coins back into the plastic wrapper to take back to the bank?
I just tried it one the intact wrappers and it can be done.
(I know, I have waaaaay too much time on my hands)

no...my bank/credit union has the coin counter machines, and one of them even takes canadian money...they send the coins from the machine out to a packaging place (i asked today what they did with them, actually), so I don't worry about getting my other ones back. also, I am far too lazy for re-rolling them...

My bank will take as many coins as my husband can wheel in on a dolly, but they have to be rolled. So far my largest return was 278 rolls of Lincolns.
I like re-rolling the coins because it gives me a feeling of accomplishment to know how many rolls I have searched.
A few days ago I received a lot of rolled coins from a company and found three new wrappers. It is sort of like finding three new variety coins.
