    Coin Scale

Do you all have any recommendations on coin scales. I am looking for something with good quality that measures out to .01 grams. I see a lot of items out there but was just wandering if you all have something you use that you are happy with? Thanks

You can spend as much as you like on analytical digital scales. $1000's But your local post office sales them as a bonus they come in handy for mail.

Mine only goes to 10th of grams , was dirt cheap and does all I need even though when I began looking for a scale my criteria was similar to yours. I always test it with a normal coin just before the one I'm curious about. This little wonder came from a convenience store that catered to an alternative lifestyle group.
So sad ... My reverse consumption engine was a broken fuel gauge ... gonna look at coins now. John

I understand exactly what you are saying.
I see everything from five dollars to thousands of dollars. I am just looking for something under 50 bucks that is fairly accurate. Thought you guys might have a favorite brand.

Harbor Freight has one that goes to 0.1g, fits in your shirt pocket and costs about $12. Have had mine for years and am satisfied with it.

Mine is from a smoke shop! But now I wish I would spent 20 not 12 and got just a little bigger. Another place gun store for powder.

              Triton T2 (400G x 0.01G)

Love it, Amazon under ~ $25.00. Suggest you also get the (2) 200g weights to calibrate the scale. Comes with a lifetime/30 warranty.

Google it and look at the reviews, Great for coins.

Thanks for all the input, it certainly helped. I found a website called oldwillknottscales. Was going for the triton T2 as 2old suggested but it was out of stock so I settled for this one. http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/je...-jt-2-350.html

got the scale, the two calibration weights (they were extra), also has an ac adapter, fedex shipping to the front door ............... 50 bucks.............. SWEET!

now the rest of the story. drove downtown (30 miles) to the BIG post office - no luck, back to a hobby story - no luck, to OfficeMax - no luck, BedBath&Beyond - no luck, Walmart - no luck, Jewelry story - no luck. My four letter expletive at this point slipped out and it wasn't "luck it"! Came down to my "hovel" as my wife refers to it and ten minutes later had a scale on the way........... moral of the story: why get out and shop with the wife when you can stay in the basement and get what you want!

I must be a cheap-***. If you don't mind buying something made in china, you can get one that goes to .01 g for under $5. Mine is a CE brand tc-10.

For the very best of scales for the price is Grainger. But way out of my reach they have something for any and all.
