1960 DDO?

    1960 DDO?

    Hi all, is this a doubled die or am I seeing things? It kind of looks like 1DO-001 or 1DO-006, but I can't match any die markers.

    001 & 006 both have light separation, and I'm not seeing that in this photo. If anything, I might see some MD on the tail of the 9, but it basically looks normal to me.

        I agree that this looks like a normal coin. There were so many variables on the 1960 dies that it would be difficult to be sure. I just don't see anything compelling here.

          I see what you are talking about. I found a '60-D like this not too long ago. I think it's ejection doubling, just higher on the devices than normal. Here is an image of mine and the link to the thread.

          I know this has to be MD, I just haven't seen it happen so high up on the devices. When I first glassed it, I thought "small over large or large over small." However, there is no extra thickness. The numbers are the exact size they should be. It's kinda neat though. The die had to have bounced very gently, right?
