Here is a hard to find steel DDO in BU: 1943-S DDO-001. It seems to be a Class IV on the date, eye, bow-tie, parts of the face and a tad in the motto; and then it shows what appears to be a Class II spread in LIBERTY.
Let me add that I suspect that the doubled areas on the eastern part (date, face etc.) could be Class IV and VIII (offset and tilted), then a third hubbing produced Class II on LIBERTY. Wexler lists the date and face as Class V.
I recognize that die scratch/polish line. I had an EDS example and it was there. Any known examples without it? Really tough coin, nice Jason.
Wiles seems indicates in his DD book that he documented an EDS without the scratches. Maybe they appear at EMDS? The scratches are rather obvious which would make cherrying it a bit easier...
