And what local coin clubs are in your area. I hope through this post we learn about clubs we can join locally and ways to interact more with fellow coin people. Also if you like to list major coin shows that happen monthly this would be the place for this too.
What state are you from.....

Good thread Jay. I'm from Atlanta, Ga, and I attend the Metropolitan Coin Club of Atlanta. For those of you in the area, it's a great group of people.

Nashville, tn area. I think the last coin show i was at was in the 90's. I don't know of any coin clubs in the Nashville area. I've never been a member of one, here, KY or california. If there was one around I would probably join.Rock

Mason City, Iowa here. Home of Merideth Wilson (aka The Music Man) and the last remaining Frank Lloyd Wright designed Hotel. Currently not aware of any coin clubs in my area or coin shows. I need to do some research in both of those areas. Bill"Enjoy Every Sandwich"- Warren Zevon

I live in Laguna Niguel, California.
While there are many, many coin clubs in the area (that specialize in US coins), I am a member of ancient coin clubs only (OCACC... Orange County Ancient Coin Club) and I have visited the Los Angeles club (up in the "valley").
There are lots of shows in the area, but my favorite is the Long Beach Coin and Stamp Expo. The next one is in February and I can be found in the ancient coin section and the Lincoln Cent booths, plus there are a couple of booths that deal with metals and meteorites and metal detecting (fun stuff).Allan (AstroRaider) White

I was born and raised in northeast Missouri, we had a high school coin club. While I was a
city letter carrier in Macon Mo, we had very nice coin club (early 70's). I moved to Columbia,
huge city with stamp clubs, but no coin club (early 80's). Been in Arkansas since 1983, no
coin club in my area. Attempts have been made before I knew of them, but nothing took hold.
Jacksonville is closest club, 103 miles away, Memphis TN has huge club, 160 miles away. There
are people with coins, but this is area with very quaint people, they would rather trade and
barter down at Citgo gas station, then quietly sneak away. People here with valuables tend to
stay quiet, really have to get to know people well before they open up.

Well, I live in Washington State, but can be found scrounging coins or good fishing holes in many of the surrounding States and Canada
. We have an active coin club in Spokane (The Inland Northwest Coin Club), which I am not a member of, but plan to be soon. I do attend as many of their local shows as I can and have really enjoyed those!
